Renae Chrystal works in a variety of mediums, including oil painting, watercolor, drawing, and illustration. Although she has a BA in graphic design, she has found art and illustration to be a more natural language for her creative expression. Her illustration portrays animals, high fantasy settings, and the woods of New Hampshire, often in a humorous or whimsical light. She is inspired by artists and illustrators like Shawn Braley, Ben Hatke, Mattie Rose Templeton, and Nick Wroblewski.
